Going to the gym
This week, I decided to start going to the gym after more than two years without setting foot inside one. I like to think being the online sports editor influenced my decision.
Not that I was a complete couch potato for the last couple of years, I’ve done some pilates sessions and even some running on Sundays, but after reading too many issues of Men’s Health, I thought it was time to go back, even though if I am being honest, I do find it slightly boring.
Thankfully there’s something called an iPod to help you in your workout. My plan is to prepare a different playlist for everyday I go to the gym, which i should add will not be more than 3 times a week.
You should not restrict yourself; any kind of music can be good when you’re doing some exercise.
Maybe the upbeat electro pop of Lady Gaga or Annie Mac will help you out if you need motivation to keep on going. Or maybe a Beethoven symphony might be just what you need when you’re running on a treadmill for a good half an hour.
Some say you can go to the gym not only to get fitter, but even to find a date and make new friends.
Fair enough, hopefully I will not restrict my conversations to gym-themed subjects, such as muscle routines or which new different kinds of flapjacks are available to buy.
