X Factor: movie week

by Shari Kelvin

Is it a disgrace or just plain predictable that The X-Factor has major flaws this year? Once again the show has failed to represent what The X-Factor should stand for - a singing competition.

Oh yes without fail Simon - drips with poison- Cowell is making headlines again this week in the magazines and newspapers for his ridiculous but surely staged plot.

On Sunday night Lucie Jones and twins John and Edward were in the last two and had to battle it out in the sing-off to stay another week.

But who went? I’m sure I don’t have to even say it, as you probably guessed correctly: the untalented boys missed the eviction, when Simon put the deciding vote to the public.

Simon was the last judge to vote and he made it clear the two finalists  deserved to be at the bottom.

Sending the final judgement to deadlock Simon went for the public vote, and low and behold the public wanted the twins in.

Ratings stunt?

Poor Lucie was left shocked and in tears. But it was a smart choice by Simon, as the ratings will surely plummet once those highly entertaining boys finally do leave.

However it begs the question, is this show about the contestants or is it all about Simon lining his pockets with phone-vote revenue and making headlines with his outrageous behavior and faux-bullying directed at everyone that isn’t working under his stewardship?

Perhaps he was just being a show-off because his talented X-Factor girl Leona Lewis had performed and he wanted to prove to the judges that his choice of finalists are always better and will win no matter what.

Saturday night’s movie themed songs were a great choice for all the finalists, the show opened with strong voices and unlike last week - Stacey was amazing, that girl can sing and she carried the song with attitude, brilliant.

Lloyd Daniels and the twins were the worst, but what can we expect from the obvious weaklings that should have been voted off ages ago.

Performing on the Sunday night's show was a familiar face to X-Factor fans, Miss Leona Lewis with her new song Happy. While the Black Eyed Peas, one of America’s biggest hip-pop groups sung their beautiful new song Meet Me Halfway.
