Kate Moss Xmas Collection at Topshop

by Nicole Vanacore

Moss' new winter rangeWhether you love it or hate it, the Kate Moss collection in Topshop is always talked about.

Her new Christmas collection hit stores across the country and Arts London News checked out to see if the winter collection was a hit or a miss.

Despite a lot of Topshop's own range being about sequins, padded shoulders and lace, Moss' range isn't that different although there is a lot lurex added for that extra party feel.

Many of the pieces have an oriental feel to them; bamboo shoots and lotus flower prints feature on the kimono dresses and blouses, with a lot of silk used to give them a luxurious feel.

Dresses are around £65 to £150 and tops being £35 to £75.

Again, like each Kate Moss collection, there’s the faux fur coats, layered dresses and blouses and beading galore, although there are also quite a few limited edition pieces, including a sequin mini dress at £130 and a Jacquard evening coat at £230 - certainly expensive but the detail really makes it worth the money.

Most of the collection, including the underwear - very much lace and prints, bodies bras and French knickers - is a little on the expensive side compared to Topshop's own range.

For us students, price is always a problem and as much as we could love to splash out £150 on a Moss dress, we often can't, although the January sales will be a great place to get the collection for a fraction of the original price.

Overall the collection is sexy, different and very Christmassy, the best buy being a black snaked skinned long sleeve top at just £28, a bargain compared to the other prices.
