Winning match for UAL's netball team

University of Arts London women's Netball team got their cup campaign of to a winning start with victory over The Universtiy of Kent’s third team in a close game that ended 25-29 to the home side.
The teams had met before in a match which UAL had comfortably won. But this was a much closer affair in which the team really had to work hard to earn a result.
The game started at a very fast pace, and it was UAL who opened the scoring with some slick passing and great movement from the whole team. Goal attacker Rosie Black found herself with time and space to finish of a great move.
There was a brief injury scare for UAL, as a clash in the midfield, left wing attacker Caroline Whithead clutching her nose. Luckily she was able to continue.
As the game stretched, it was UAL who were seeing the most of the ball. Their quick passing and great communication meant they were getting points on the board and placing distance between themselves and the opposition.
UAL continued in their dominance to lead 10-14 at half time.
Second Half Drama
Goal keeper Gemma Barfi and goal defender Annabel Cliff, worked tirelessly to prevent the University of Kent getting back into the match. Between them they claimed nearly every rebound. This gave the rest of the team a great platform to build on.
UAL showed great commitment in seeing out the game as Kent began to claw themselves back into the game with five scores without any reply.
UAL’s centre Natalie Walker, showed great stamina and spirit to keep her team in it. Her opposing centre seemed just as up for it and the tussle between them was great to watch. Both ran effortlessly all game and were instrumental in providing the attackers with some superb service.
Goal scorer and UAL captain, Rebecca Mckenzie, said: “I feel it was a good performance from the team, we all worked hard for each other of the ball and took are chances when we got them.”
