Your Views: what would you change at UAL?
It is a well known fact that most people hate change, and this has been evident with all the commotion that has come along with changes that have been made or are being made throughout the University of the Arts London (UAL).
With all the changes that have been going on at UAL over the last few months, we at Arts London News thought it would be a good idea to see what changes the students would make to the colleges if they could.
Here's what you told us:
“An SU for wimbledon, we need cheap drinks. At the moment we go down the road to the local but it isn’t that well priced. We need an SU Bar because it is always fun to get drunk.”
Jenna, Costume interpretation, Wimbledon
“I would change the travel time between campuses, I feel pretty segregated from the rest of UAL at Wimbledon. It is just to far to travel.”
Art , Technical Art and Special Effects, Wimbledon
“I wish the software was at a more advanced level because it causes problems with converting files and it takes a lot of time. The university needs to update.”
Vicky, Set design, Wimbledon
“I think all the colleges are quite split, I feel very disconnected from UAL and I don’t see a solution.”
Claire, Painting Ba, Wimbledon
“I wish teachers would come and talk to you more about our work, I think we would benefit from more one to one sessions. Wimbledon also needs more sculpture books.”
Leana, Sculpture, Wimbledon
“We need more studio space, a way to do this would be to have less students. There are 50 on my course and it is meant for 25-the maths isn’t that hard.”
Petra, Design Performance, Wimbledon
Anna Rolin, 20, English Language and Art &Design, LCF
"I'd like to see the learning zone open 24 hrs, so I can stay longer to do my assignments."
Tigana Sari, 20, BA Fashion Management, LCF
"I wish the university would open a gym for students on campus. there's nowhere for us to workout. Also, the student bars are boring here. I'd like better student nights, more parties."
Shannon Todd, 20, BA Shoe Design, LCF
"I think there should be more after college activities on offer at the university. There is nothing much to do here."
Kelly O'Gara, 20, English Language Course, LCF
"There should be more variety of food on offer in the canteen and lower prices too! Food is really expensive here and I spend a lot of money eating out."
Francesa Rees, 20, BA Fashion Management, LCF
