A brown, empty leather wallet with a penny coming out of itBeing a student can be quite difficult in terms of finance, but luckily many services are available to help you go through the day without selling your liver.

Student Discounts is one of them, a great online service designed to provide hundreds of discounts for students in the UK, with great selection of discounts and offers that you can use at some of your favourite high street, online & local stores!

If you are a first year student and you don’t have a lot of money to spend, then the NUS card may be just what you are looking for.

It is a discount card that works in conjunction with many high streets shops, allowing you to save up to 50 per cent on some of the best brands out there.

You can get up to 10 per cent off shops like of Gap, Topshop and Miss Selfridge, discounts on cinema tickets from Vue and Odeon and for these organized students needing stationeries, Ryman also offers up to 10 per cent off.

Students are also entitled to Oyster photo cards.

An image of the authorized user is scanned on the card front, which is issued to members of groups eligible for free or discounted travel - students for example.

If you are a student in full-time education, the card could get you 30 per cent off your season tickets.

Discounted period Travel Cards and free travel on buses and trams for students that live and attend full-time education in London is also on offer.

So students should really get into the habit of asking for a student discount!

Keep an eye on who offers what discounts — you’re entitled to them, so don't hesitate and make the most of it.
