Box marks the spot
UAL students could be in with a chance of winning a massive £30,000 prize by participating in what has become the most popular reality show in the UK.
Man In Box, which describes itself as “the most extreme social experiential ever undertaken in the history of British entertainment”, sees DJ and TV presenter Tim Shaw trapped inside a steel box with the prize money, for a month.
Tim, who is known for his shows on Kerrang! and Aboslute Radio and Channel 4's Balls of Steel, has put his own money up for grabs in an experiment that he says “links solitary confinement with social networking by observing how a human being behaves for a period of a month in a world of total isolation”.
Viewers of the show, which is broadcast live on the internet, are asked to guess which UK location the box might be.
The show has amassed six million viewers via JustinTV and other websites that are streaming the live video feed.
Having spent 24 days in the box so far - which measures just three feet high, four and a half feet wide and eight feet long – Tim is keen to rejoin civilisation and continues to post clues as to where he might be using a pen and paper.
His only highlight each day is the delivery of basic food and water through a tiny hatch. Tim also receives a daily cryptic clue or object to try and help discover the location of the box, which he has been told is of personal significance to him – all anyone knows is that Tim has been there at some point in the past 35 years.
With just four days left to find Tim and win the prize, visit www.maninbox.co.uk and get guessing.
