Everybody is...
Listening to Vampire Weekend
The four-piece indie rock band from New York, has taken Britain by storm over the last couple of weeks with a string of gigs around London starting with a free session at Somerset House.
The band has recently released its second studio album Contra and is currently on tour around the country.
Vampire Weekend will return to the capital to play at Brixton Academy on February 16 and 17.
Tickets can be purchased from www.seatwave.com or www.seetickets.com. The band has also been booked to play at Glastonbury this summer.
Buying winter warmers
After the spate of cold weather we’ve all stocked up on the latest knitwear trends.
The big freeze has provided us with the perfect excuse to wrap up warm.
Fur has made a big comeback as we take inspiration from the Inuits; rustic colours are big for that ‘picked this up at the vintage store’ look.
But remember to go fake for a look that is animal friendly as well as catwalk cosy.
Check the high street for some bargains in the sales; most stores are getting rid of the last of their winter stock.
Go for a timeless cut without too much detail and you will be wearing it for years.
Trying to slim
It’s a cliché but it’s true. This time of year, we turn our attention to dieting.
Whether it’s a two-week detox or a slimming plan to set you up for summer, everybody’s eating less or at least attempting to shift that extra weight.
So, if you want to get a bikini body or shift the Christmas excess.
Now’s the time to eathealthly and start exercising.
It may not be fun but it’s definitely worth it.
Going to see Avatar
Having recently won the Golden Globe awards for Best Director and Best Drama, James Cameron’s 3D film about life on another planet has been a roaring success.
Said to be one of the (if not the) most expensive films ever, Avatar showcases groundbreaking special effects and breathtaking visuals.
The movie follows Jake Sully, a paraplegic marine, on a mission to another planet, where he is torn between protecting the place and the woman he loves and following orders.
Avatar is said to be so emotively intriguing that some have experienced a feeling of depression after.
