Richard Schembri talks to us about LCC

by Richard Schembri

Richard Schembri lcc vpHello there!

Yes, you, the one reading this paper!

I’m Richard Schembri, vice president for the Students’ Union at LCC, recently elected by my fellow students here at the college.

Other equally worthy candidates gave me a good run for my money in the election, most specifically George, who I beat by the narrowest of margins!

But I do certainly appreciate having this position; it makes my long journeys into uni feel a lot more worthwhile and it’s a real honour and pleasure.

Always here

If any of you out there feel any temptation to check my performance as a vice president for yourself, please, by all means tap me on the shoulder or call me over for a chat, tell me all the problems you’ve been having, or any positive feedback (which is surprisingly sometimes just as important).

You should be able to tell who I am from my photo.

That’s just for LCC students though; all others can speak to the hand… Again I jest!

I may well be designated for LCC, but I have a lot of involvement with university-wide problems and issues, so I’ll be only too happy to speak to you lovely people at other colleges and before you say anything (to a newspaper? weirdo).

I do quite regularly visit the other sites, mainly Wimbledon, Davies St and LCF (JPS) but, just like a true Wally, I can be found anywhere.

Finally, please get stuck in.

Speak to your course reps, ask them how our meetings go, make sure they attend them; it’s the only easy way to create change in this system we’re in.

That’s why I’m here, working to improve OUR university.

All the best, Richard.
