Editor's Blog

by Zoe Rafah

This term has been very exciting as we graduate this Summer! Yippee!

Being a lifestyle editor is relatively straightforward - in fact it has come to my attention that being an editor is pretty straightforward when you know how!

I now understand why last term was worth a higher percentage of our final grade because we were virgin editors, thrown in at the deep end and we had to learn how to swim - fast.

Far from a repeat of tears for me this term, I am confident and relaxed whilst being organised, working hard and diligently to once again make the role of editor look easy, although it definitely is easy when you have fantastic writers and an excellent deputy lifestyle editor in the form of Harriet Byczok!

If last term was saccharin-sweetened substantial porridge, then this term is fruit cake; succulent, juicy, sweet and with no bitter aftertaste.

Our newsroom is a lovely little team where individuals often offer smiles to one another in passing, and the atmosphere is work hard, play hard, and I am looking at everyone differently as I try to plant the essence of them and their faces into my mind.

I know that sadly most of my class mates of two years, I will never ever see again once we graduate, but just as the old lady at the end of Titanic said, they will live on in my mind.
