The British Fashion Council (BFC) has announced London College of Fashion as its 2010 winner of the WGSN digital presentation award.

The prize, which is sponsored by the online publication WGSN, was recently quoted a fashion industry “must-have” by The Guardian.

The council’s judging panel, specifically praised LCF for the design content of their portfolios.

Hosted by Chair of the Colleges Council, Anne Tyrrell, the judging panel included many of the industry’s most celebrated names including buying Director of Womenswear for Selfridges, Anita Barr, and London Fashion Week designer, Todd Lynn.

Graduate Preview Day

Now in its sixteenth year, the BFC Colleges Council aims to develop links between Britain’s top fashion colleges and the industry.

Its Graduate Preview Day has proved very popular with buyers and merchandisers, as well as gaining extensive press coverage.

“Today was a tremendous success with an outstanding attendance from international and UK press and buyers, including Vogue Italia, Elle Magazine, Matches and Harrods”, said Tyrrell.

Chairman of the British Fashion Council, and former LCF student, Harold Tillman said: “The BFC’s Graduate Preview Day gives the industry an opportunity to foster relationships with colleges and asses the talent which is due to enter the work place later in the year.

“The UK is recognised as providing the largest pools of fashion design talent in the world. Through the preview day, the BFC understands the importance of nurturing emerging talent through industry links and placements," he added.
