Well known photographer links up with LCF again

RICHARD YOUNG KENSINGTON  LONDONThe most famous social photographer in the UK has chosen to collaborate with the London College of Fashion (LCF) for the second year in a row, to support its emerging photography talent.

Richard Young will showcase Capsule #2, an exhibition of work by forthcoming 2010 graduates from BA Fashion Photography, running from June 15 to August 13.

His gallery space in Kensington will unveil 56 pieces of work by 56 different graduates.

'Next generation'

“It is vital that I continue to support emerging talent in the hope that the next generation can follow in my footsteps and launch their own successful careers,” said Young.

The work on display will reflect the huge range of image making to come out of LCF in recent years.

Course director Edward Barber, said he was grateful for Young’s continual support: “It gives our students the opportunity to show in such a prestigious photographic venue.

"It reinforces the importance of our graduates within the creative industries," he said.

Nikon are sponsoring the event for the second time, awarding the graduate who displays the most creative potential - AWARDING WITH WHAT?

The judging panel tasked with finding a winner this year are Richard Young, Prof of Fashion Imagery Penny Martin, and Simon Coleman of Nikon.

Prints will be available to buy at the Richard Young Gallery throughout the exhibition, offering the public a rare and unique opportunity to directly support photography’s emerging talent.

Young’s work encapsulates a wide variety of people, from celebrities such as Elizabeth Taylor and Madonna, to political figures such as Fidel Castro and Nelson Mandela.
