Iron Man 2 | Film Review
The sequel to Iron Man has been highly anticipated for the past two years due to the success of the action packed scenes and Robert Downey Jr’s (Iron Man/Tony Stark’s) irresistible charm in the original film.
But it has to be said, Iron Man 2 was a bitter let down.
In the new movie, Stark's identity as Iron Man has been revealed and he must now deal with the pressure of press and the Government to give up his technology for millitary purposes.
The super hero is forced to form an alliance with Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) and Colonel Rhodes (Don Cheadle) to fight against his enemies.
But there is also the problem of decline in Tony Stark’s health, due to the energy pack fitted in his chest increasing his blood toxicity levels.
Even though the film has been a disappointment compared to the original, Iron Man 2 is packed with action, romance and betrayal.
Robert Downey Jr’s performance manages to save the film a bit, however, it seems as though the directors wanted to make it as action packed as they could by introducing multiple ‘baddies’, but in the end it just created a perplexing mess.
A scene at the end of the credits confuses the audience even more but we know what it means - Iron Man 3 is on the way.
