Everybody is... | Week two

by Olivia Foster

Ellie GouldingListening to Ellie Goulding

Ellie Goulding is a quintessentially English folk singer.

Coming from relative obscurity, Goulding’s melodic, and at times haunting, songs got her a place on the BBC Sound of 2010, which lists 15 of the top rising artists.

The biggest appeal of this rising starlet is that she has something for everyone; girls love her music for the melodrama and the soulful lyrics, men love her because she has that edgy vibe that most pop songstresses these days are lacking.

Her album Lights will be released on March 1.

Read our reviews page for the lowdownon her second single.

Eating wheat-free

So you think you have a wheat intolerance?

It seems people are not eating some wheat-based products because they believe that they have acquired a ‘wheat allergy’.

If you think you have a wheat intolerance then you should speak to your doctor.

Symptoms can include skin irritation and digestive problems.

Until research shows otherwise, for the majority of us, there is nothing wrong with eating wheat.

Buying Spring/Summer 2010

It’s still winter and we really should be wrapping up warm.

But as soon as the January sales were over, we couldn’t help but notice all the wonderful new clothes in the shop windows.

Experts advise that prints are back in.

Think flirty feminine pastels or nature inspired prints, in contrastto the ’80s prints of last summer.

For the boys, it’s about flaunting your masculinity.

The days of metrosexual indie chic are limited as the fashion house influence creeps onto the high street.

Men are encouraged to wear simple and strong cuts.

Going to see Cirque du Soleil

Every year the Cirque du Soleil comes to London, and every year hundreds of people flock to see them put on what can only be described as one of the most breathtaking shows on earth.

This year is no different with their current show Varekai, "a captivating forest inhabited by whimsical and enchanted creatures."

This is an incredible display of acrobatic feats which make you feel about as flexible as a plank of wood.

Tickets start at just £20 so it’s actually cheaper than your average night out.

Varekai will be on in London until February 14.
