UAL's sports ranking announced
The University of the Arts London is currently ranked 121 out of 149 universities, according to the latest British Universities and College Sport (BUCS) rankings.
UAL has amassed 46 BUCS points, with the most productive sport being Hockey, which has won 25 of them.
The Men’s firsts are undefeated in the league and looking set for promotion, whilst the women’s first team are third in their division.
Netball is UAL’s second most successful sport with 10 points; the first team are undefeated at top of their league.
The other three teams have only managed one win between them.
Basketball has won eight points, with the women’s team second in their division whilst the men have yet to win a game.
The football teams gained the final three BUCS points, the four football teams managing five wins in the season so far.
The solitary Rugby team has yet to win a league match so has not won any BUCS points.
Points are awarded to each team depending on their results in their fixtures; as a result, the universities most successful teams contribute more points to the overall totals.
At the end of last season Arts only amassed a total of 37 points meaning this season has already seen an improvement.
So far this season UAL has racked up 30 wins, with 59 defeats and 4 draws.
In comparison the top university for sport, Loughborough, has 2745 points.
